Margot Fonteyn
In my opinion, one of the greatest Prima Ballerina's of all time. I had the pleasure of meeting her and her partner Rudolph Nureyev when I danced with The Royal Ballet for two consecutive years at Lincoln Center's Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.
Margot Fonteyn and Rudolph Nureyev were quite an inspiration to me. Rudolph Nureyev choreographed the children's scene I performed for the Nutcracker. I remember being nervous and scared of him, but felt in awe at such a young age to say I was dancing with suck a great presence and being directed by him as well. I danced with many greats such as Merle Park, Anthony Dowell, Monica Mason, Rudolph Nureyev, Margot Fonteyn to name a few. I have many of their autographs that I acquired while dancing with them. It was deffinately the highlight of my career to have shared the same stage with these artists !
